I saw The Zone of Interest earlier this year since it was Oscar nominated, and what a worthwhile movie and also what a hard movie to watch. (I cheered myself up afterward by watching Bottoms for the nth time.)
I've been meaning to read The Familiar but forgot about it for a bit, so thanks for the reminder!
The Zone of Interest was seriously intense - I felt like I needed a cry and a lie down afterward, but I couldn't stop watching, it was absolutely compelling.
And damn, you just reminded me that I want to watch Bottoms! So we reminded each other 😁
I finally watched Longlegs. So creepy, but a great twist and performances.
We really enjoyed Longlegs so much! I saw it with my two older boys and it was a packed session - we were sitting about 6 inches from the screen 😂
It had very Lynch vibes, and it was mainly just great to see a director taking a big swing with something weird!
Agree about the Lynch vibes. I’m still traumatised by Twin Peaks, and Longlegs felt the same for me.
